2019 Emerging Philanthropy Buzzwords

Dr. Lucy Bernholz, a writer for the Chronicle of Philanthropy and self-described “philanthropy wonk” has released annual opinion pieces detailing top 10 lists of “emerging philanthropy buzzwords” for over a decade. Dr. Bernholz is also a senior research scholar at Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society, director of the Digital Civil Society Lab, and the author of the series “Philanthropy and Digital Civil Society.”

We would be foolish not to give some credence to the phrases buzzing in our ears this year; after all, 2009’s list had “moving the needle” on “impact investing” pegged.
